At the extreme west of the preferred travel area\, let’s see how it goes.  \nClick here to watch a short video of the facilities at Sandford Springs. \nAs usual no catering organised.  \nFree Wi-Fi is available in the Clubhouse Hotel and The Clock House all complimentary to our visitors. \nThe Clubhouse is open daily for breakfast from 7am followed by morning coffee\, lunches and snacks. \nBooking\nSandford Springs have asked for a £10 deposit for each player. \nThe booking is for 18 – 20 players\, £180 has been paid.  \nThey also want the balance to be paid 2 weeks (originally 1 month) before the day. This means that I (you) will need to confirm your attendance and payment early\, not on the day.  \nI will look to accommodate those that are uncertain until nearer the day but if there are only 16 2 weeks before there will be little to no scope to do that. \n

This is Wimbledon Common GC which I believe shares uses the same course as Royal Wimbledon\, it definitely does with London Scottish Golf Club. Wimbledon Common starts at the 10th if you have played at London Scottish. \nFor more information talk to Alan\, Adrian\, John\, or Gavin\, they played they played the course during the London Scottish Golf Day in 2022. \nCoffee and bacon roll beforehand. \nFirst tee time is 10:00am. \nFrom their website . . . . . . . . \nClub Founded in 1908\nThe Wimbledon Town Golf Club was founded at a meeting held at the Wimbledon Hill Hotel (now the Dog and Fox) on February 20th 1908. Membership was limited to 100 residents of Wimbledon and the entrance fee and annual subscription at one guinea each. The Common course was also being played (as it is now) by London Scottish Golf Club\, and a ladies’ golf club that was absorbed by Royal Wimbledon in 1930. \nIt is a local rule that all golfers on Wimbledon Common must wear plain pillar-box red coloured tops\, to make them more visible to other users of this public land. We can provide these for sale\, or for hire. Denim wear of any kind is not permitted. \nPlease make yourself aware of the local rules by visiting the website. There are some interesting rules and it will help keep you and the public safe.

DESCRIPTION:A new venue\, which according to their website is . . . . . . \nOne of the Best Pay and Play Courses in the South\nIt’s a bold statement to say that Rookwood has one of the best-kept courses in Sussex\, but it’s only a reflection of what our visiting golfers have been telling us. With a mix of gently undulating parkland and mature woodland\, the par 72 course measures 6\,200 yards. Strategically positioned bunkers and a number of large lakes creates a course that presents an enjoyable challenge to both experienced player and novice alike. Fast moving greens with subtle undulations\, lush-green fairways and well-maintained teeing areas all combine to create a very playable\, but most importantly enjoyable\, game of golf. \nTo make sure it may be able to live up to our expectation\, John Slocombe visited it in December 2022 giving it the thumbs up. \nAs it is the first venue for the year I thought coffee and bacon rolls would be appropriate while we catch up with what we have been up to over the winter. \n
