After the competition, and in front of the press, chairs purchased by the charity will be formally handed over to their families. After the presentation, there will be time to change and meet for pre-dinner drinks in the champagne bar. Please identify this req<\/p>\n<p>uirement when booking).<\/p>\n<p>And, at additional cost, you may stay for a relaxed pre-tournament dinner on the evening of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> with accommodation at the hotel for a swift start on the 20<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h4><u>Old Thorns \u2013 A history<\/u><\/h4>\n<p>Old Thorns in Hampshire is one of the finest four star golf resorts in the south of England. Having recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, the resort offers the very best in golf, accommodation, spa, health club and conferencing facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The resort was originally the family home and farm of businessman Ken Wood. (The cost for a chair in 2016 now averages \u00a33,000.) The \u2018PWC crusade\u2019 as George called it, launched successfully in 1975 and has blossomed since under different names depending on the sponsor. During a long and distinguished career, Peter won three British PGA Championships played in eight Ryder Cups and represented England in golf\u2019s World Cup ten times. He won twenty three tournaments, with one of the highlights being when he won the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese Opens back-to-back. Since his time as a player, he has become known as a widely knowledgeable commentator with an instantly recognisable style that has endeared him to millions for whom he is simply \u201cThe Voice of Golf\u201d.
