End of Season Bash and Next Year.

Had a great End of Season Bash today at Old Thorns. Enjoyed by all I hope and handed over the league Chair to Hurtmore for next year. During the day we played simple stapleford with mixed club groupings so we all had time to share gossip between the many many many shots. The day was won by Geoff Spear on countback with 41 points, second Geoff Creedon then third David Passmore. Wrt the first two, Calvera would be proud. ( Look it up – hint …. Magnificant Seven ).

Over dinner the Committee agreed to continue next year with the same format, scoring style and rules but requiring Players to hit at least six drives, so I’ll revise the rules now.

Pyford have now formally joined the league so room for just one more. Please contact Don Saum at Hurtmore GC if you are interested.

2025/6 Season Results

WOW that was close. Old Thorns win the 2025/6 League by ONE point. Or about 1/2 % over Milford. Just shows how good the handicap sysytem is!

Already looking forward to a warm summer and a competetive 2026/7 season.

Pyrford have joined.

Pyrford Lakes have now joined the league ready for the 2025/6 season. Dates for that season yet to be agreed but usually the same day as last with appropriate date adjustments.

There’s still room for more if you are interested.

What the devil is this?

You have managed to find your way to the landing page of the website being constructed for the embryonic winter golf league, A3 Senior Golf Winter League.

The purpose of which is to provide competitive golf during the winter for clubs within easy reach of the A3M north and south of Liphook.

Currently there are just 3 teams, Old Thorns, Milford, and Hurtmore. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Others are welcome to make contact to find out more about league and joining.
