2022
Overview
During the year we visited old favourites, Puttenham, Littlehampton and Cowdray, returned to Alresford after a gap of 3 years and visited Cottesmore and Tylney Park for the time.
Cottesmore was an experience, when discussed most refer to the greens as upturned saucers and the par 3 17th over water that no one managed to stay on to be nearest the pin. Will we return? Possibly in 2024 when the memories have faded.
Tylney Park, a different set of memories. Fairways lined by mature trees with Red Kites nesting in them and everyone seemed to return cards with 30+ on them. Should we return? Definitely one to try for in 2023.
Puttenham seems to be one to play in 2023, perhaps with a breakfast before a start a little later. It was nice to return to Alresford but probably not again in 2023. Littlehampton have let us know that we need to have 16 players and that the cost will increase. Cowdray, with a meal is going to be £60+ in 2023. Perhaps we play there on a golf only basis and close the season elsewhere.
Twenty Two players and one guest played during the year. There are another 5 who have not managed to get away from work or have holidays etc get in the way of them playing. A few more guests coming along would be useful in ensuring we have enough when there is a minimum number of players required.
Enough of that who won what throughout the season?
