Wimbledon Common – 2023
Half-term, child minding, holidays and an oil tank leak reduced the numbers playing to 12 on Wimbledon Common from the Wimbledon Common Golf Club in our pillar box red attire.
A few seemed to spend time searching for a ‘womble’ having misunderstood their ability to reach the long grass or not quite reached the other side of the gorge. The fairways were hard, often producing an unexpected bounce left or right. There were plenty of people out and about enjoying the sunshine. On one hole, Phil hit his drive, clipped a tree with a crack that alerted a dog that thought he could play ball. The dog quickly ran to the ball followed by its owner, the pair appeared to take it off into the woods. On walking up we found Phil’s ball on the fairway.

Would I be right in assuming, don’t include it in 2024 but perhaps in 2025?
